We are committed to buying great products from suppliers who operate in an entirely responsible manner.

Our aims

Products come from factories that comply with local employment laws and who provide good working conditions for their staff.
Suppliers are subject to vetting for satisfactory ethics and procedures.
Our supply chain partners will be required to sign up to a Carpetright ‘Code of Conduct’ to ensure we are always acting in a responsible and ethical manner.
Where a particular environmental concern is associated with a product we will work with our suppliers to deal with it responsibly.

Suppliers – we require suppliers of goods to complete an annual questionnaire to ensure they operate to the standards we expect. The questionnaire covers all aspects of operation including employment and environmental policies, business continuity, whistle blowing policy, corporate and social responsibility policies, employee conduct and health and safety. We take particular care to see that any chemicals and materials used by suppliers in the manufacture of products are only those we consider acceptable. Carpet suppliers from Belgium conform to a Europe-wide set of industry standards for chemicals.
Product - we get most of our products from the UK and Europe. Sustainability is always a key part of our supplier discussions and we are proud to have achieved the following:
- We have introduced a new Timber Policy and ensure all of our wood products have attained 100% Forest Stewardship Council certification.
- Our underlay range includes a product made from recycled tyres.
- We also offer a vinyl product range that includes a totally recyclable vinyl.
- We have introduced a new carpet product which is manufactured without generating latex waste product.
- The Company’s “Supplier Ethical and Environmental Code of Conduct” document has been read and approved by all of our leading suppliers. Letters of confirmation are held on file at the Central Support Office.

To roll out a new environmentally friendly polyurethane underlay product.
