Baroness Noakes, a chartered accountant, joined the Board in 2001. Baroness Noakes is a Non-Executive Director of Severn Trent plc and a trustee of the Thomson-Reuters Founders Share Company. Previously she was with KPMG for 30 years and was the Senior Non-Executive Director of the Bank of England and a Non-Executive Director of Hanson plc and ICI plc. Baroness Noakes chairs the Audit and Nomination Committees and is the Senior Independent Director. Baroness Noakes has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc with effect from 1 August 2011.
